True weather forecasting can be an essential tool of modern society, and this brings benefit to livelihoods, together with prosperity and development and people's safety. The GCRF African Science for Weather Information and Forecasting Techniques (GCRF African-SWIFT) programme will grow sustainable African weather forecasting capability, to enhance the livelihood of African populations and enhance the economies in their own countries.  The UK benefits from the best predicting in the world and the UK Met Office is anticipated to bring 3 billion of benefit to the UK market every year.
