As per the Energy Conservation Act 2001, it is mandatory for all the designated energy consumers to get energy audit Government of India, is empowered to specify the regulations and mechanism to meet the above objectives. BEE has retained the National Productivity Council (NPC) as the National Certifying Agency, which would conduct the National Level Certification Examination for Energy Managers & Energy Auditors under the aegis of Bureau.   BEE has been empowered to specify the qualification criteria and procedures for the certification of Energy Managers and qualifications for Accredited Energy Auditors.   The pas*ing of the National level certification examination is the qualification for an energy manager to be appointed or designated as Certified Energy Manager. For accreditation of Energy Auditors, certification of energy auditor may be one of the prerequisites besides other criterions before an energy auditor is considered for accreditation.
