 For those interested in teaching, research, or practice in the psychology of women. » One of the largest as*ociations of psychoan*lytic professionals and scholars in the world. » APA’s 54 divisions are interest groups organized by members. Some represent subdisciplines of psychology (e.g., experimental, social or clinical) while others focus on topical areas such as aging, ethnic-minorities or trauma. APA members, and even non-members, can apply to join one or more divisions, which have their own eligibility criteria and dues. In addition, each division has its own officers, website, publications, email lists, awards, convention activities and meetings. Fellowship is a special distinction for members who have received a doctoral degree in psychology or a related field from a regionally accredited institution and can show evidence of unusual and outstanding contributions in the field of psychology. Application for fellow status is open to any APA member who meets the criteria of both the sponsoring division and APA. Each division establishes its own criteria for nominations — sometimes the same as APA criteria, but usually involving additional requisites relevant to that division. Each division is responsible for providing the Fellows Committee with updated division criteria. APA’s 127th Annual Convention will be held in Chicago, Aug. 8-11, 2019. In the booth you can pick up division ribbons to wear on your name badge, join divisions onsite, enter our raffles for prizes, get the location of division hospitality suites and talk with leaders of the divisions face to face.  APA's divisions regularly host events featuring the latest advances in psychology.
