On Thursday, Microsoft made its Office suite available on Apple’s Mac App Store. The tech giant was scheduled to roll the Office apps on Mac App Store earlier in 2018, but it got delayed due to specific reasons. Finally, the app is here after a short delay, and the Microsoft Office 365 app bundle will include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and OneDrive. Users who wish to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook will have to pay a subscription fee. The Microsoft Office 365 app bundle will hold the same version of apps that Mac owners were previously using through Microsoft’s website. The only difference will be that these will now be easily accessible from the Mac App Store. Besides this, the Office apps will be automatically updated through the App Store, and this can be counted as one of the most significant benefits for the users. Earlier, users have to use Microsoft’s separate AutoUpdate (MAU) tool to update Office for Mac. Apple also welcomed Microsoft’s addition to the Mac App Store today. “We are excited to welcome Microsoft Office 365 to the all-new Mac App Store in macOS Moja*e,” says Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing. “Apple and Microsoft have worked together to bring great Office productivity to Mac users from the very beginning. Now, with Office 365 on the Mac App Store, it’s easier than ever to get the latest and best version of Office 365 for Mac, iPad, and iPhone.” At present, Microsoft is offering a one-month trial of Office 365 and the users opting for this trail will have to pay $69.99 a year ($6.99 per month) for Office 365 Personal from next month. Users can also purchase Office 365 Home at $99.99 a year ($9.99 a month). Users subscribing for Office 365 Home can use Office apps on six PC or Mac devices. Both Office 365 Home and Office 365 Personal will be available with additional 1TB of OneDrive storage per user and 60 minutes of Skype calls per month, as per reports.
