i didn't want to call individual agencies,then try to put the information together. here i could just get an overview of everything i picked up the phone shaking, near tears, and now an hour later i feel like we have a plan. after 42 years, my husband was unemployed i called about one thing only, and she just charged ahead and did all kinds of other stuff. it was wonderful. things i didn't even know i had no idea about any of this. my mom was telling me, because she's on pace. she said to give this number a call and just check it out. my mom lost her pension about ten years ago when my dad died. and with the donut hole she couldn't come up with the $4,700 and we didn't i would have never applied! i got a letter in the mail from you guys and that's what started things off. i’m an old man, and i don’t understand half of these things. every question i asked i was given a good answer in language that i can i contacted a different organization and they were not able to as*ist me. your staff reached out to me and helped me through this process. the only thing i can hope for now is to receive enough food stamps to feed me and then try to juggle my $1,200 budget from social security to cover my $1,000 per month rent and pay the rest of my bills. this is scary -- i've been unemployed, i'm smart, i'm putting my student loan in deferment. i mean, the financial crisis has been a nightmare, and i'm still not recovering from that financially. every day i'm looking for a job...and checking my blood pressure! i got food stamps...and had no idea i was eligible. it is great, especially when you didn't know you were eligible. the addition of the money (food stamps) has helped make my quality of life better. i submitted an application last night, and it was totally wrong. i called back today, and spoke to your staff who took me step-by-step through the application. he did everything to make sure my application went through. i'll buy a loaf of bread from the dollar store and stretch it, and if i have bread and milk, i'm fine. i don't want to lose the medical
