I'm Julie, I'm from Florida originally then moved to Australia with my family when I was in high school.  I started drawing since I picked up a pencil, I was in love with horses, so that's all I drew.  As I grew up, I specialised in equine art. As a young ad*lt I competed in art shows, my paintings have won numerous prizes and awards at shows and painted commissions until life took a different direction and I stopped painting for  more than 20 years. I'm a grandmother now, time has gone by but 2018 is a big turning point for me, I have decided to return  to my art using all different mediums and realising that I can paint more than horses. Im fully commited to my art now and will be showing in 2019 This collection will show rich colours, dramatic themes and intense emotion intended to suit a contempory atmosphere. 1980 -Hoofs N Horns magazine describes Julie's art  Australia's answer to the modern day George Stubbs.   The Australian  Julie has mastered the eyes of the horse, they  seem to bring life into the room  I use many different mediums, mostly acrylics, alcohol inks, scratchboard and pastels. I'll try anything. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style. The products  are a professional quality,  such as lighfast,  acid free papers, quality sealers etc. After being away from my art for so many years, it has been a whole new learning curve for me  to  paint and use brushes again but I'm certainly feeling more confident now and  not afraid of challenges.  You'll  also see a gallery section for scratchboard. This is a professionally obtained clayboard covered in black ink. Images are scratched on, like a reverse drawing. I find these interesting as they are perfect to show off realism. These take time and have thousands of scratches to create the image. These artworks are becoming very popular. I enjoy interior design too, I'm probably a little house proud.
