Bedford Montessori School provides a warm, friendly and creative learning environment for children from 18 months of age through Kindergarten. Our Pre-Primary program serves a mixed-age group of students from 18 months to 3 years old, while our Primary program offers traditional mixed-age Montessori clas*rooms for both Preschool and Kindergarten students age 3 to 6 years old. Our curriculum is based on the philosophy and work of Dr. Maria Montessori and since 1984 our dedicated, certified Montessori teaching staff have guided children through the Language, Math, Sensorial, Everyday Living, Science & Geography curriculum. Children work at their own pace and at their individual level of ability in all areas and learn to participate as members of a larger community. The clas*rooms are equipped with a wide choice of materials that encourage active exploration and self-education. Our bright sunlit clas*rooms are beautifully appointed with age appropriate activities, child-size furniture and access to our outdoor play areas. The teaching staff are skilled professionals, dedicated to providing a caring and stimulating environment for the children in their care. The children are encouraged to develop a sense of order, an ability to concentrate, and the coordination to handle materials with increased skill. They also learn independence and develop a positive self-image. In all clas*rooms, the children are free to make their own work choices and receive individual and group lessons from the teachers based on interest and level of development through the traditional three year cycle.
