On the occasion of an evangelistic campaign in 1992 by pastor Mark Finley, the need for the establishment of Blessed becomed by those who made peace was emphasized, for they would be called sons of God! (Matthew 5: 9) We, Seventh-day Adventists, seek by the grace of the Lord to have peace in our souls and to live in peace with the brethren of faith (1 Thess 5:13) and with all men (Rom. 18). Considering, however, the words of seventh happiness, we understand that we need to take a step further and work so that, where there is no peace, be peace. There are many people who are shaky, they are divided communities. We understand that our heavenly Father asks us to be compas*ionate and, as some who want to be called sons of God, we want to be more active in making peace where there is discord, we want to be reconciled. Like Christians, we have limited means of intervening in the major issues of society. But we can constantly support peace. We can demonstrate in our church and community relations that Christ has the power to resolve any sort of divergence: personal, political or ethnic. Sometimes this means taking risks, removing the comfort zone, and pillaging to avoid defiling the church even with the flavor of politics. But the difficulties do not excuse us from the fundamental Christian responsibility of teaching others peace, shaping the harmony of the community in which we live. Let us not forget that when it comes to the fulfillment of Christ's commandment of conciliators, silence may be as bad as the utterance of the wrong words. In the face of evil, silence is complicity to what is wrong, and it can be a deadly weapon when hatred acts.
