My name is Brian Brancato, and I have been playing trumpet since the summer before I started fifth grade in 2006. I studied with Richard DePasquale throughout all seven years of my playing before college. I began my ensemble playing in 5th Grade Band at Northside Elementary School and worked my way up through the hierarchy of the top ensembles in my school district. Throughout my four years of high school, I played first trumpet in the concert band, full orchestra, and jazz band under the direction of Bill Tiberio. I also participated in many extracurricular ensembles including Area All-County and All-State bands and orchestras, Hochstein Youth Wind ensembles, and the Eastman Youth Jazz Orchestra. Now, I am in my third semester studying Music Education at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, and I am excited to become a music teacher! In addition to playing with a variety of ensembles here, from the symphonic band and symphony orchestra to the jazz and Latin ensembles, I have been working with many great teachers about the intricacies of music and of teaching.
