All absences will be verified.  Mr. Lundstrom was been named a 2015-16 Ja*its-Frasier scholar by the National As*ociation for Gifted Children. Only 12 teachers nationally were recognized and Lundstrom was the only California educator to be named a Ja*its-Frasier scholar. The Ja*its-Frasier Teacher Scholarship Fund for Diverse Talent Development recognizes pas*ionate, innovative educators who work in districts that serve students from low-income and minority populations that are historically underrepresented in gifted education. In partnership with Soil Born Fa*ms, students harvested vegetables from the school’s garden plots and then learned how to cook them. Students peeled, chopped, grated and stirred with their peers. The menu included bu*ternut squash soup, grated potato ‘n’ greens Camellia teachers recently hosted the second Camellia Academic Teacher Team (CATT) meeting of the school year, an event that left Camellia faculty spent the evening teaching parents academic activities and games to use at home with students. Academic Parent Teacher Teams are a model of parent engagement brought to Sacramento City Unified by the Parent Teacher Home Visit Project, a national nonprofit focused on building trust between schools and families.
