ever wonder what happens to shelter dogs that are not perfect, are considered too young, too old, too sick or who have special needs? or. those who are simply out of time and options, overlooked by potential adopters? chicago canine rescue foundation exists to give many of these an*mals a second chance at a forever family. we love the underdog!  ccrf was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. to date, we have proudly saved the lives of over 6,000 dogs, cats, kittens (yes, we have started helping a few felines each year, too!) and puppies.  the dogs in our care come to us from open-intake facilities, from a handful of rural partners who lack the resources for adoptions, and from families who for a variety of reasons, can no longer care for them.  our team provides specialized medical treatment, emotional and behavioral support, and adoption ccrf as*ists the an*mals that are the most vulnerable in our city – the dogs and cats that are searching for a home because they are too old, too young, too injured, have disabilities or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters. while special needs dogs have a huge place in our hearts and our program, many of the dogs ccrf as*ists are healthy, family dogs who lost their homes purely due to circu*stances.  we provide a safe landing place for dogs of all ages, sizes, and backgrounds, and work hard to match volunteers are the backbone of chicago canine rescue foundation. we depend on volunteers like you to make our mission come to life. we are always looking for more volunteers. and the best part…you can volunteer as it fits your schedule and devote as much or little time as you want. no need to commit a certain day or time every week…unless you want to. support the ccr shelter pups when you purchase high-quality, all natural pet food, treats, and mixers from pawtree, who will deliver custom pet nutrition right to your door!  a percentage of proceeds of pawtree products purchased through our link goes back to the shelter
