sustainable agriculture towards social, environmental and financial sustainability. biodiversity conservation an effort to preserve indigenous seed varieties. fa*mer's collectives promoting community managed initiatives. we are centre for indian knowledge systems (ciks), a registered independent trust working in the areas of organic agriculture, biodiversity conservation and vrkshayurveda (the ancient indian plant science) we work to enhance livelihood security of small and marginal fa*mers in tamilnadu, through. use of indigenous knowledge and resources for sustainable growth in agriculture, food and nutritional security. spread over eight districts, about 110,000 fa*ming families have benefited from our activities and 10,000 ha of land has been converted set up and supported 650 fa*mers institutions (50% of which are women groups), including self-help groups, fa*mer clubs, joint liability set up enterprises which carry out allied activities like biopesticides production, dairy production, millet production, a set of centres named “agricultural machineries facilitation centres (amfcs)” has been set up in thiruvannamalai, kancheepuram nurtured 23 fa*mer producer companies across 9 districts in tamil nadu. these fpcs work closely with more than 20,000 fa*mers to realize the vision of sustainable livelihoods and profitable agriculture. our publications docu*ent our work in different aspects of sustainable agriculture. about 200,000 copies of these publications have been © centre for indian knowledge systems, 2018. site created and maintained by am aravind.
