Gracie’s       parents are fighting for custody of Baby A, their grandchild, who has Sturge-Weber Syndrome. This is a congenital condition which causes neurological problems and developmental      delays. The port wine stain on Baby A's face is a hallmark of the disease. Gracie was brought into the family as an emotional support pet for Baby A. as he faces the challenges as*ociated with his disease Gracie's parents started  to notice she was having digestive issues and slow growth. They took her to the veterinarian and she was subsequently    diagnosed with her own congenital defect, an intrahepatic portosystemic shunt. In layman’s terms an abnormal  vessel developed in her liver which diverts blood away from the liver before the blood can be properly processed. Treatment for this condition is a transjugular coil embolization. The coil closes off the abnormal vessel allowing blood to flow properly through the liver.  Addison's disease but this was later ruled out. The estimate for this     surgery at WSU is $7,500 Gracie’s family has expended significant financial resources in their efforts to obtain custody of their grandchild. They can commit $2,500 to Gracie’s surgery and have asked for CLF’s help in  funding the rest of the surgery. Please consider helping us get Gracie the surgery she needs so she can be there for Baby A. Gracie's fund goal is $5,000.
