Ed watches Winry so fondly, if not a little sadly and maybe guiltily. I’m sure he’s relieved that she’s alive, but he’s probably upset that he couldn’t save her from Barry. He was helpless. He was nearly killed like she was. He might even blame himself for her getting kidnapped. I bet Barry would’ve taken Winry anyway, but he talks like he knew Ed would come for her. She’s their “special guest” and Ed’s “reward” for making it that far. To Ed it looks like she was in danger because of him, and he’s buying her anything she wants to try to make it up to her.
