For watering on a 10ft wall across the top should be adequate. Gravity will do the work. Just about any non-woven synthetic will probably get the job done. Some fabrics will maintain water better than many others. You will have to modify your watering accordingly to suit your plants. You may choose to begin with a 2x2 test square before you make your wall. Watch what works best for basil. That manner you are not losing many plants as
