i’ve been running a asp.net vnext asp.net 5 asp.net core site on azure for about a year now. it’s taken me a while, but i’ve finally upgraded it to rc2. however, when deploying to azure, i was getting an error page with the specified cgi application encountered an error and the server terminated the process on the site, and nothing else. nothing in the error logs, and not much help on the web. this may be specific to running os x within a virtual machine, but i ran into some issues resizing the partition where os x is installed. i run a number of virtual machines for testing, and for whatever reason, i originally created my os x 10.11 el capitan vm with only a 40gb disk. the 10.11.4 update dropped today, which i went to install, and after do*nloading was told there wasn’t enough disk space to.. over the weekend i had my laptop bag stolen. the brazenness of someone walking up a driveway and into a corporate building on a sunday afternoon still astounds me; that a good friend was on her own in a room right next to where it was taken is even more concerning. at first, i thought i had just moved it somewhere and forgotten. we spent nearly an hour looking before reporting it to the police,.. google have just dropped web starter kit on the world, which is their “opinionated recommendations on boilerplate and tooling for building an experience that works great across multiple devices”. this project is part of google’s larger web fundamentals project. it’s similar to bootstrap, which i use regularly, in that it provides a framework of re-usable elements, and starting place for the structure of your page. one thing it has over bootstrap, is it includes automated.. i finally had a chance to experiment with flexbox, a fancy new “coming soon” feature for css. browser is support is getting fantastic system which is going to solve a lot of layout problems. anyway, what i was trying to achieve was a layout with two fixed width columns, and a third fluid which fills the remaining space. normally i would..
