we believe it’s possible to alleviate suffering with the love of christ. evanjáfrica is an african-founded nonprofit empowering. fighting poverty and suffering with the love of god and a distinctly african approach. mozambique has one of the fastest growing economies in africa. at the same time, it faces incredible challenges: both physical and. evanjáfrica ensures gi*ls and boys will overcome these challenges. several years before madalena was born, her parents survived a tragedy that killed almost everyone in their family. so when madalena’s father got sick and died suddenly, her mother’s worst fear was that something would happen to her too. shortly after this, she also died. the only remaining relative was not in a position to care for madalena but eventually found our orphanage. we welcomed madalena into the evanjáfrica family in 2013 when she was four years old, and at the end of 2016 she was able to return to live with relatives under our community based orphan care program. today she is doing well in school, loves playing dolls with her friends, and enjoys singing in evanjáfrica is a christian ministry operating in mozambique, designed to fight spiritual and physical poverty. it was started and is run by local mozambican christians and is supported by a u.s. board, families, friends, and churches around the world. through orphan care, evangelism, education, and community development, we aspire to raise a new generation of godly leaders who will change their nation through the power of the gospel and the ability to empower future generations for change. over the past 15 years our kids have been attending local public schools that are over-crowded, under-funded, and severely lacking in resources. we have supplemented their education by hiring teachers who have tutored them outside school hours. because of the effectiveness of our after-school program we are now in the process of turning this program into a formal school. we plan to open the
