Our plan was to hug the shore at about 35 miles out which is at about the limit of where crab pots are normally laid. As nightfall came we found ourselves in huge 'mine fields' of crab pots even as we moved further off shore. Our two traveling partner boats found that their spotlights were close to worthless for spotting pots while our Golight was spectacular… our partners ended up following us close as to dodge the mess we had gotten into. This went on for -Kerm Wold Aboard the Southern Belle we departed from Carrabelle, Florida with the destination of Hudson, FL … This 20 hour journey had been delayed for weather for a few days but a window of opportunity opened and we took it along with two other boats.
