join us for a summertime spectacle, when several professional balloonist light up the evening sky with a beautiful balloon glow. the sky will be filled with a spectrum of color like never before, against a backdrop of a breathtaking tennessee sunset.. the 2nd annual great smoky mountains hot air balloon festival will feature something for everyone: the balloons begin to inflate at dusk and glow for around an hour. this means balloons are usually up from about 8:00pm to 9:30pm, conditional on weather (if weather does not permit a glow the balloons will perform a candlestick glow).. the balloons will not launch…. this is a balloon glow event. parking for the event is $20 per car online or $25 per car day of the event. we encourage you to pre-purchase parking tickets. this year we are offering tethered rides (weather permittng) for $20 per person. our four legged friends are not discouraged from attending the gsm hot air balloon festival, but we understand that the balloons can be frightening and noisy much in the same way a fireworks show creates stress for our furry pets. all pets must be leashed and poop bags are family fun event with lots of activities to keep everyone happy and busy. great local food trucks will be on hand to serve whatever craving you may have. relax with a regional craft beer while taking in the beauty of the festival. tickets for the wine tasting will be available on site for only $10.00 and include a commemorative wine glas* and six compartment wine tote the wine garden will be open starting at 3 pm going until 9 pm in the evening. taste samples and purchase wines by the bottle or by the think your photo of the gsm hot air balloon festival is the best? let us see…. congrats to last years winners…. 1st place- chelsey williams submit your photo to [email protected], include your name, phone number and a brief description of your photo and where it photographs that violate or infringe upon another person’s copyright are not eligible. the photographer must hold all rights to submitted
