Dame Rosalyn Higgins - Former President of the International Court of On Monday, November 12th 2018, The Hague Academy of International Law opened the fourth session of its Advanced Course on International Criminal Law. This year the special focus was on the many challenges and opportunities deriving from the new information technologies and The Hague Academy of International Law organized a Side Event during the 73rd session of the Sixth Committee (Conference Room 11) of the General As*embly at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on October 24th 2018. Following last year's initiative, this year's Side for the 2019 Summer Courses, Doctoral Scholarship Programme and the Centre for Studies and Research The Summer Courses, which have been organised from the very outset, take place over a period of 6 weeks: 3 weeks of Public International Law (in July) and 3 weeks of Private International Law (from the end of July until mid-August). The Winter Courses are a new programme. The very first session of the Winter Courses will be held January 7-25 2019, a period of 3 weeks, during which high level courses on International Law (both Public and Private) will be given at The Hague Academy of International Law. The Centre is designed to bring together highly qualified young international lawyers from all over the world, to undertake original research on a common general theme which is determined each year by Curatorium of the Academy.
