how i almost missed my interview because  my sister's dog chewed up my hearing aids. my name is connie, a 34-year web developer from north carolina and i've been wearing hearing aids since i was a baby. due to an ear the story i'm about to share with you today almost wouldn't have happened if not for my sweet friend vicky to help me out. thanks vee! my little sister had just gotten a new dog, a little hellraiser named luna. she asked if i could watch luna overnight while she and her at the same time, the next morning i had an interview at a prestigious software company here in north carolina.  i wanted to work there for years, had all the right qualifications, and when a position opened up i applied right away. i couldn't believe so that night i went to sleep giddy and excited for tomorrow. it took me ages to fall asleep. when i woke up, i went to the bathroom to get. i came back to my room, and what i saw was the most horrifying thing i’ve ever seen. my faithful oticon epoq v hearing aids were on the floor in pieces!! i couldn't believe my eyes. was i dreaming? did this actually happen, on i was shocked and angry when i realized what happened. the dog came into my room while i was showering and used my hearing aids as a chew i rushed to try and put them back together or do something to fix them. i felt despair and tears stinging my eyes as i turned one of i yelled at the dog. why did you do this? i had no idea puppies liked to chew on things. if only i had kept my hearing aid case closed, none i was angry at myself, at the dog, and at my sister. but with my interview a few hours from today, i was now in full-on panic mode. how do i deal with this? i can't show up there with no hearing aids, and ask them to constantly repeat themselves - i'll die of i thought about asking them to re-schedule the interview, but i knew it would take at least a few weeks to get new hearing aids, and by worst of all, i was pretty sure my warranty expired a few months ago - so that means i'd have to shell out $5,000-6,000 for a new pair. money
