we are a san francisco k-5 public school located in the castro welcome back to school and to an exciting spring semester. let’s start the new year with some great news! a huge thank you goes out to our enthusiastic parent and student volunteers who collected donations at the sf ga* men’s chorus holiday concerts in december. together, our dedicated volunteers collected $27,801 in donations for our school! and the sf ga* men’s chorus has generously donated another $2199 – making our grand total $30k for this incredible fundraising effort! the results of this amazing community partnership will directly benefit our educational programs and enrichments in the 2019-20 school have a wonderful winter break and happy holidays! see you back in school on monday, january 7 2019. please mark your calendars for the annual winter peace as*embly where each clas* will present a rehearsed piece onstage to celebrate winter and peace! it’s a wonderful community event to close the calendar year and hopefully many of you can attend! students in the ymca after school program will have the option of eating the after-school supper and students who are picked up directly after school should be fed a snack or dinner at home or elsewhere before the show. all students should be delivered back to school in their clas*rooms at 5:15pm (teacher may request an earlier drop off) to have a chance to practice before going on stage. students will be released to their families after their performance. please help them to be good audience members. to celebrate giving tuesday, a global day of charity and giving, several generous donors will match $25,000 in donations to our annual science, cooking clas*es, and so much more!  and for one week only, your gift will go twice as far. annual thanksgiving shopping event for hmcra, friday november 23 to sunday november 25. shop small and support your neighborhood business it’s a school holiday all thanksgiving week. see you all back in school monday, november 26th.
