A historic church, school house, rectory and convent, reborn as Hotel Peter and Paul. Hotel Peter and Paul is the result of a four-year restoration of the former Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic church and school. The site is author’s (possibly apocryphal) three-person funeral in the church. The former school house, rectory, church and convent have each been carefully restored and repurposed for new congregants. Each building has its own inspiration and narrative, with the resulting restoration ensuring that no two guest rooms are exactly alike. We hope you will honor this landmark by adding to its history through your own experiences. The School House features a palette of colors derived from 14th-18th century religious paintings in a variable array of rooms, inhabiting former clas*rooms, the school theater, and sleeping lofts under the eaves. The guest rooms borrow aesthetic influences from Europe, including Sweden, Italy and France. Furnishings fall into two categories: pieces designed and constructed locally by regional artisans, or antiquities collected from the great antique fairs of Europe and several of New Orleans’ finest estates. Select rooms feature claw-foot bathtubs. No two rooms are alike, so we’ve clas*ified them by size.
