(Aircraft Maintenance Engineering) AME(Aircraft maintenance engineering) Program at IIAE (Indian Institute of Aircraft Engineering) is now CAR-147(BASIC) compliant. Under this programme institute is approved by DGCA Ministry of civil aviation,Govt of India for AME license category B1.1 which covers heavy aircraft and turbine engine to be known as Mechanical stream and category B2 which covers aircraft electrical instrumentation and aircraft communication and navigation system to be known as Avionics stream.For issue of B1.1 and B2 AME license one has to gain four years of Aircraft maintenance experience in DGCA CAR-145 Approved AMO (Aircraft Maintenance Organization) and CAR-147 (Basic) Maintenance Training Organization. Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) program is approved by Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Civil Aviation, AME Program is divided into two streams to cover the entire maintenance requirement of an Aircraft.They are: 1. Mechanical and 2. Aircraft Maintenance Engineer find placement in Airlines, General Aviation, Government Aviation, Defence, Foreign Airline and all such AME has got tremendous career opportunity in Airlines, General Aviation industry, manufacturing industry and defence sectors due to Usually an AME joins as a trainee in the airlines or general aviation after completion of 3 years of approved program. This extends an IIAE shares the campus with PM College of engineering under long term as*ociation through which IIAE supports the PMCE with its vast technical infrastructure including the aircrafts and PMCE supports the IIAE with huge neat and clean green campus spreading over an area of A candidate who has pas*ed 10+2 examination with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) or has completed three years approved diploma in any of the stream is eligible for admission in AME programme. Additionally a student has to pas* through medical examination conducted by a registered medical practitioner. Students with colour blindness are not allowed for admission.
