The main activities of the Institute of Literature and Art are literary theoretical, literary, comparative and poetic research. They systematically monitor and study the movements and evolution of creative critical thought in us and in the world in the field of history and the theory of literature, comparatism, aesthetics and poetics. The Institute examines the problems of methodology and terminology of literature science; the basis for the preparation of the history of literature is created. It is based on scientific and critical editions of writers, produces bibliographies and processes literary archival materials; collections and monographs on literary movements, schools and works of individual authors are published. Scientific meetings are being prepared; various forms of scientific work and professional development of scientific workers, especially scientific research, are being encouraged.
