If you want a chill, upscale, holiday in one of the nicest areas of Miami Beach, you should stay at Harrys property in the Modrian. It was wonderful from start to finish. The room is lovely, relaxing, we spent more time there than we thought just relaxing and enjoying the room. The Mondrian amenities are amazing, the pool is gorgeous, the sunsets over the city from across the bay are memorable. There are so many nice places to eat and shop within walking distance. Lincoln Road mall is fab, but also check out Espanola Way- Numero is a wonderful little Italian place that does traditional housemade pasta and pizza. If you want great Cafe con leche and breakfast- Davids Cafecito is the place. We also had a great breakfast at the 11th Street Diner. Yardbird for dinner is awesome, the best fried chicken ever. There is also a new place a couple of blocks away - The Cheese Course- that will make you a lovely cheese and fruit tray, and Whole Foods is right across the street. Two tips on traveling around the city- be careful where you park- it isnt always obvious what is a loading zone, etc.. dont park against a yellow curb. a very expensive lesson we learned. Also, the trolley takes you just about everywhere you want to go on South Beach and its comfortable and free. Given how expensive it is to valet at the hotspots this is a must. It runs til midnight even on weekdays, maybe later on the weekend- not sure. Harrys place is our happy place!! Harry was a fabulous host!
