As a vegetarian myself, I am pas*ionate about serving good quality Vegan and Vegetarian food in a very friendly environment and our attempt at Kalpna is just that. Opened over 40 years ago, the Kalpna Vegan and Vegetarian Restaurant stands as one of Edinburgh’s most established vegetarian restaurants. During this time it has won separate awards for excellence in Indian and vegetarian categories. In our dishes we use only the freshest ingredients, which, wherever possible we have sourced locally. We have a new look but have kept many of the much loved favourites from our old menu but we have also introduced new dishes which reflect the contemporary style of cooking in India today, a style that embraces the concept of fresh, seasonal and exciting food. Fabulous Indian restaurant - wonderful selection of vegan & vegetarian dishes in elegant surroundings. Friendly staff, efficient, speedy service - food delicious & well spiced. Good selection of alcoholic & non alcoholic drinks. Highly recommend. The food here was great and the staff was very helpful. I wanted a jain dish and they did not have anything on the menu, however, the chef was more than happy to make something and it was delicious.
