The challenge is to educate and train people so that they will be valued for specialized knowledge, skill and for their ability to research, communicate and solve problems. Khallikote (Cluster) University, Berhampur is expected to meet the challenges by building collaborative partnerships with leading Universities, industry and research institutions. I would like urge upon the University to provide students with every facility, to fulfill the potential and develop an attitude to life that will serve them for their life beyond the boundaries of the University. It is also equally important that the University ensures the relevance of its academic programmes and strive for continued excellence in Professor Dr. Amarendra Narayan Misra became the first regular Vice-Chancellor of the Khallikote Cluster University of Berhampur and joined on 14 July 2017. As Vice-Chancellor of the University, he will use his experience and expertise to improve access to the five colleges in the Khallikote Cluster University for students of all economic backgrounds and advocated for enabling quality teaching and research in interdisciplinary, job oriented and industry linked disciplines. Immediately after joining the University initiated dialogues with various stake holder for promoting collaboration across academic disciplines and administrative units accepting the limitations and challenges of infrastructure, resource crunch and financial challenges. Khallikote University (KU) was established as the first cluster University in the state of Odisha on 30th May 2015 under Rashtriya Uchhatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) in exercise of powers conferred by subsections (1) and (2) of the Odisha University Act, 1989 (Odisha Act 5, 1989).
