  An autobiographical short film about the identity that comes with learning a foreign language, and what happens when one suddenly stops learning it. This film expands on my experiments with mixing an*log video signals and projecting onto mirrors. Shot in both North and South Carolina over the course of a few days, this video is both a snapshot of my life at the time, as well as a rundown of my aesthetic tastes: charter buses, public restrooms, and I have been writing and performing music for almost my entire life. My current musical projects are Hearts Bonfire (pop music) and Stank City USA (dance music). As Hearts Bonfire, I have released two albums, one EP, and one single, as well as toured across the United States and   The goal of this project was to create a collection of different songs with the same tempo. This gives it the feel of a DJ mix, regardless of what order the songs are played in. Recorded over the course of a few months using Ableton Live, this mixtape pulls inspiration from Krautrock, rave music, video game music, and synthpop. The accompaning video is a slow TV-esque long shot of a drive down Interstate 40, a familiar sight for North Carolinians. the intention of turning sounds that I don't like (e.g. metallic hits, mouth smacking) into dance music, something that is meant to be incredibly palatable. Made with Ableton Live in about four months, the album is as manic as the object of the album's obsession, with many of the songs focusing on building a groove and repeating it until it suddenly veers into a completely different idea.
