Vision of the Graduate Survey Longmeadow High School has begun to prepare for the 10-year accreditation process of the New England As*ociation of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), which will begin now and will culminate in 2022. One of the first steps is to consult with stakeholders in the community to develop a portrait of an LHS graduate through measurable skills and competencies, or what NEASC calls the school’s “Vision of the Graduate.” According to NEASC, the Vision of the Graduate “emphasizes a holistic view of expectations for students, including the transferable skills, content, understandings, and disposition that students should have by the time they graduate and a method of as*essing a students The survey window has now closed. Thank you to all stakeholders who completed the survey! To ensure a safe commute for families and staff and to allow time for storm clean up, Longmeadow Public Schools will open following a two-hour delay today, Friday, November 16. As I indicated in an email yesterday, the two-hour delay means that elementary parent-teacher conferences scheduled for this afternoon are canceled and our elementary students will be dismissed at the regular time. I hope our families will consider attending tonights Senior clas* play. The performance of Beauty and the Beast begins at 7 a.m. in the With input from our weather service and the Longmeadow DPW, we are monitoring the pattern of the incoming storm. As of now, LPS after-school and evening events, including elementary parent conferences and the Senior Clas* Play, are on as scheduled. We will continue to monitor this developing storm and will notify families this afternoon if there are any changes to our after-school It is too early to determine what, if any, impact the storm will have on our school schedules on Friday.
