It had to be a couple days, he thought, glancing up from the script he’d been staring at- he’d long given up actually reading it. His vision was fuzzy and it felt like his skin was crawling with a million ants- to see a black blob appear in one corner of the studio. As he watched, it grew a pair of arms and legs. As he watched, it opened a pair of misty, white eyes. “Agh!” Bim scrambled off his stool, tipping it over in his panic. “Get away!” Another creature appeared, its too-long arms and legs jerking like a spider’s as it skittered toward him. Fu*k this. He was out. Bim chucked his script at the creatures, then darted toward the door. Dark was just pas*ing through the hallway when Bim burst out of the recording studio. The show host looked like he hadn’t showered or slept in days; dark circles ringed his eyes and his normally perfectly styled hair was disheveled. His suit was stained with what looked like grease and his tie was undone, hanging loosely around his neck. “Bim?” Dark asked, but Bim didn’t seem to hear him. He was frantically looking around, eyes darting back and forth. “Get away!” He gasped, backing up, up against the far wall of the hallway. “Bim!” Dark snapped, approaching him, grabbing his shoulders, shaking him. “It’s not real!” Bim’s head bobbed back and forth from the force of being shook. His eyes cleared up a bit, but were still mostly glazed over. “Dark? “Not real.” Dark said firmly. “There are no creatures. You’re hallucinating from sleep deprivation. Do you understand?” Another nod. A blush. Bim’s eyes darted down. “I don’t want to sleep by myself.” Dark sighed. “I will join you, then. Will that be satisfactory?” Bim nodded once more, and his shoulders sagged suddenly, as if his exhaustion had all at once caught up with him. “Yes.” “Come along.” Dark looped his arm through Bim’s. “Your script can wait.” He was bleeding out. He could feel it; blood gushing from the bullet wound in his side, soaking his brand new suit and draining just a
