Kankakee) stopped by to have a look at the Get Out And Learn Program (GOAL) sponsored by the Chicago Blackhawks Organization.  The event, spearheaded by teacher Mike Bleyle, was a great experience for students.  Rep. Parkhurst then took a tour of Je-Neir Elementary with Supt. Shannon Anderson, stopping in several clas*es and meeting with students and staff before the holiday break.  At the Decemeber Board of Education Meeting, Kirsten Bishir, of Momence Packing made a donation to Mrs. Cooks clas*room to promote education and robotics.  Obviously, were very pleased by the generosity of Momence Packing to support our efforts, I know Mrs. STEM at MJHS.  This will allow her to do that, said Mr. Anderson.  The supplies will be used to purchase different supplies and The Zonta Club of Kankakee is pleased to announce that the applications for the 2019 Young Woman in Public Affairs Award To be eligible to receive this cash award of $500.00, the applicant must be a young woman between the ages of 16 - 19.  The goal of the Young Woman in Public affairs Award is to recognize a young womans commitment to the volunteer sector, evidence of volunteer leadership achievements and a dedication to the advancement of the status of woman.  The Zonta Club of Kankakee offers a $500 cash award at the local level.  The recipient of this award also becomes eligible to compete at the District as well as the International levels.  Applications may be printed or do*nloaded from the Zonta International website
