follow meg’s journey for practical tools to holistically heal grief and other ailments of my oldest friends) has been “you’re so strong” and “i don’t know how you do it.” i started feeling like maybe people are thinking i’m just made of steel and doing what we’ve been taught to do in america for hard times: pull yourself up by your bootstraps. which i admittedly tried and failed, several times … because that doesn’t actually work. or maybe people are thinking i’m just meditating and writing poetry (which is what i’ve been sharing on social media to be fair), a zen-master…which i am very far from, much to my disappointment at first.. when i started truly healing, the best way i know how, i started to question, “what am i doing actually? how am i doing this?” and then: “how can i help others heal?” i thought, “it doesn’t do anyone a bit of good to see me heal my grief, and only wonder “how!?” because it isn’t being made of steel. it is not through sheer will. it is not through a single form of healing. it is through a multi-modality approach to holistic healing. it is a process. it is a practice, a craft, an artform.. if healing yourself holistically is something you want to learn how to do, follow #meghealswith for practical tools for general healing, and #meghealsgrief for grief specific healing. not every tool will be your thing, and that’s okay! take what resonates with you, and leave the rest. healing is individual. it’s all about building your unique toolkit for your craft. i’m honored to share, and blessed if it helps you heal in any way. happy healing!
