The roof dome is formed by a space frame structure, supported on low level insitu concrete structure. Gardens by the Bay | Meinhardt – Transforming Cities, Shaping the Future

1088Spreading over 101 hectares, Gardens by the Bay is made up of three waterfront gardens – Bay South, Bay East and Bay Central. The largest at 54 hectares, Bay South showcases the best of tropical horticulture and garden artistry while Bay East at 32 hectares boasts a promenade frontage that embroiders the Marina Reservoir. The connector between Bay South and Bay East is known as Bay Central, and stands at 15 hectares with a three-kilometre waterfront promenade that allows for scenic walks stretching from the city centre to the east of Singapore. As the Civil and Structural Engineer, Meinhardt worked in collaboration with Atelier One (UK) to design the two Conservatories (Flower Dome and Cloud Forrest) and ancillary facilities, 18 Supertrees and devised a safe methodology for their cons

1914Mediapolis is a 12-storey media complex consisting of a 1,600-seat theatre, 2 large production studios and other cutting-edge media facilities. The 19-hectare hub includes space for retail within the complex and 4 levels of basements. Mediapolis is envisioned to be a one-stop hub for infocomm technology and media ecosystem located in the one-north precinct. Meinhardt are the structural engineers and provided ERSS to the Design & Build contractor.

Changi Airport Terminal 1 | Meinhardt – Transforming Cities, Shaping the Future

1153The upgrading design was based on the ‘Tropical City’ theme, with improvements made to the terminal façade and airport facilities to enhance the overall experience of p engers at Changi Airport. A terminal-long sky roof with colour-changing LED lights and louvres control, as well as an iconic 204-metre long canopy at the departure kerbside count amongst the new features at Changi Airport. Natural lighting was also a key element in the upgrading works, with taller and unobstructed glazed walls incorporated into the architectural design, a sky roof, and a 12-metre high gl façade. Open spaces were emphasised with the higher-glazed gl walls. In addition, the 35-metre airside extension of the terminal provides a good, clear view of the aircrafts and runways.
