The increase of the territory of the nature reserve fund is a direct obligation of Ukraine in accordance with the As*ociation Agreement and other international docu*ents. About 18% of the territory of the European Union has a special conservation status. At the same time, in Ukraine this figure is about 6% in relation to the total territory of the state. This is the lowest figure in Europe, and we must quickly remedy the situation.
