Hello!September 23, 2018 These past few weeks have flown by with many activities – part of the reason for my delayed letters. The last week of the school term without Scott went smoothly. Thank you for all your prayers. For Scott’s Bible clas*, Jan and I made a chart to help the students memorize the books of the Bible. Throughout the week, Jan gave an overview of each book. It was encouraging to hear students share how much information they have retained throughout the years of Bible clas*. However, losing just one teacher made the workload much heavier and the days longer. I went to bed earlier that week! It made me more appreciative of all the work that Scott puts into the school and for his diligence in all his duties. After a hectic week at school, I was glad for a break, but I was also worried that during the two-week holiday I would be bored. Scott and Jan were out in the USA and Kenya for their breaks, so it was just the Faris family and myself. But actually, the break turned … Everyone,                                                                                                August 21th, 2018 I have a little extra time this morning because of a rain delay at the school, so I thought I would start this update. Yep, you read it right, a rain delay. :) While in the states we have snow delays, here in South Sudan they have rain delays. Out of the 160 students in the school, one or two of them might own a rain jacket, if that (!), so we postpone school until the rain stops. It is amazing how much rain slows down the entire community. One Sunday morning I woke up to a gentle rain, which continued until later in the morning and because of the rain the church service started about forty minutes later and still the it took a while for everyone to trickle in. :) Thankfully these past weeks we have had fairly good rainfalls, but you can continue to pray for more rain.
