My love for sewing goes way back… I won’t say how many years! I started out as a te*n in Jr High School making an apron. I was was hooked! I always chose sewing over cooking clas*es. That apron led to making myself clothes. When my children were small, I made the occasional outfit and Halloween costumes. Time was not too plentiful back then as a single Mom of 3 gi*ls. I did work as much as I could to provide for them. Fast forward to when the gi*ls were grown and on their own, I began to get this idea to make an elegant tree skirt and How I become to be known as Momma Bobbins is another story to tell. If any of you remember the cartoon ‘The Simpsons”, there was an episode that was a takeoff on Mary Poppins and was called Sherri Bobbins. My daughter Sherri, who was at college at the time that episode aired inherited the nickname Bobbins by her roommate. I recall visiting her one day at school and her roommates parents were visiting as well. I was introduced by her roommate to her parents as Momma Bobbins…Sherri Bobbins Mom. And so it began… This name has stayed with me since and I am also known as Nanny Bobbins to the grand pups and now grandchildren. Bobbins seems to fit my love for sewing.
