i had a session with jamie last week, and right before i left to meet her i received another pentax pz-1 in the mail. this was convenient, as i needed to test the camera right away, so i could send it back if there were any problems. an additional convenience was that there was already an unused roll of fuji provia 400f in the camera. so i grabbed my fa77 as i headed out the door. i generally don’t shoot film for client sessions, so most of the session was done with my nikon d3, but just to test the new camera’s meter and af, i quickly shot this roll i love shooting the pz-1, and it seemed to be working well, so i loaded a roll of basic fuji 200 negative film i happened to have in my backpack. on the way home from the shoot, i dropped both rolls at walgreen’s for one hour processing, just to see the results quickly. obviously, the provia (above) was cross-processed. here are a few from the fuji 200 roll: great news, the pz-1 performed flawlessly. i didn’t spend much time with these shots, but managed to get a few nice ones. if you’re a friend was randomly pas*ing through town today, so i went to lunch with her, took one snap there, then i went to west liberty and walked around for awhile with the contax combo. the film is legacy pro 100, shot at box speed and developed in rodinal: 1:40, sixty seconds of roll. the lens came to me attached to a yashica fx-3 super 2000. i don’t have much of a need for this camera, but i got a great deal, i took the contax g2 out for a quick drive today, to finish a roll of portra 160 vc that i started just before thanksgiving. i’ve posted i had this roll of tungsten-balanced slide film laying around, so i loaded it up. decided to burn through it quickly and see what it would look like developed in c-41. as luck would have it, today was a good day for photography. if one defines good as dreary, drowsy.. .even this roll of fuji velvia 50 was given to me by a guy who does some of my printing, and it’s been languishing in my contax rx for a long
