As a diverse and inclusive 21st-Century school, our mission is to graduate students prepared for future success through a safe, supportive, and intellectually challenging environment committed to the values of Spartan PRIDE. When OLCHS faced the task of finding a new athletic director, it didn’t have to look very far to find highly-qualified candidates for the position. And when the final buzzer sounded on the interview process, OLCHS veteran teacher and coach, two-time Fred Parks Award winner, and 2018 South Suburban Conference Boys Track and Field Coach of the Year Jeremey Cryan was chosen as the man for the job. Math teacher Ellen Kruger, with the help of math teacher Sara Strelow and Dean Jamie Hernandez, continued the school-wide Operation Santa Claus tradition this season. 2018 marks the fourte*nth year of this event. Christmas trees were made available in the faculty mailbox Recently, the Illinois High School As*ociation and the South Suburban Conference recognized athletes for their hard work and success in the clas*room by handing out Scholastic Achievement Awards. The IHSA recognized junior and senior student-athletes with a cu*ulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and the SSC honored senior student-athletes with a GPA of 3.5 or better.
