The PARALLEL ARCHITECTURE AND SYSTEM SOFTWARE (PAS*@SC) research laboratory at UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA does all sorts of computer system research for parallel and high performance computing. We develop parallel programming models, compiler and runtime systems to accelerate performance improvement, application development and energy efficiency improvement for HPC applications. We improve and use software and hardware tools and modeling technology to de*pen our understanding of parallel execution and resource utilizations. We explore new hardware architecture and techniques to achieve these goals and we collaborate with scientists to apply our solutions to real world problems. We interact and educate students and peers to promote the exciting area of high performance computing and computer Welcome four Ph.D. students to join our research group. They are Anjia Wang, Yudong Sun, Yaying Shi and Xin Zhao. Welcome Nattapon (PK) Donratanapat to join our research group. PK is a recent undergraduate from USC and he will study in the Ph.D. program. Welcome Anjia Wang to work in our research group in the summer, at least. Welcome Philip Conrad to join our research group. Philip is currently a master student at USC and he will continue to study for his Ph.D. Dr. Yonghong Yan is featured in the article “New Memory Challenges Legacy Approaches to HPC Code Welcome Kewei Yan and Chrisogonas Odero Mc’Odhiambo to join our research group. Both are Ph.D. students.
