Welcome to the Polish website devoted to the QGIS program (previously Quantum GIS). which is the answer to the growing demand for such a place in social networks. The group's goal is to promote QGIS as free and open software as well as exchange of knowledge, skills and experience. Welcome to the group of all having an account on FB and using QGIS. We also encourage you to participate actively in it. The idea of ​​organizing this meeting sprouted for years, but there was always a shortage of time for its implementation. The main problem was to determine the target group of participants and the formula. We know, of course, how wide the number of users of the QGIS program is, but this knowledge did not facilitate the task at all. Finally, after conducting several surveys on the Polish QGIS forum, place and date. We decided on June 19, 2018, the day before the GIS conference in science. We directly addressed the most active participants of our forum with a request to prepare a presentation on a topic of their choice. We wanted people who for years shared their knowledge and experience with others. We have planned a separate session for friendly companies that are users of the QGIS program. We managed to invite three significant players: the presentation. Applicants only had 5 minutes to present their experiences with QGIS. Despite our initial fears, this formula worked quite well and we were happy to listen for almost an hour of condensed information related to QGIS, served one after the other. The meeting was opened by the host - Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering at the Cracow University of Technology, dr hab inż. Stanisław M. Rybicki. After the participants' greeting, he handed out the official QGIS project certificates to the best students of the faculty, completing clas*es in the spatial information systems in this semester.
