My name is Jovia Radix and I'm a lifelong Flatbush resident conducting to function as following councilwoman for the 45th district. I am a first generation American and I am very proud of my own Bajan and Grenadian heritage. For my whole lifetime that the importance of public and community service were instilled in me and it's common in who I am now. I know the wants of our area and also know how essential it really is for all of people to come with a better future. Too often members of our community are now being priced out of these homes or our education system fails our children. Since your Councilwoman, I will fight for our fair share of government funds to make certain no member of the community feels left unrepresented.  Growing up within the 90's at Flatbush, I watched as our neighbors couldn't endure to themselves while using home and reasonable wage problems that weren't addressed due to their fear and lack of docu*entation. That led my mum to produce DC 37's first ever immigration program for union members. AS Councilwoman, '' I pledge to create more of the kinds of programs, though we can't change Washington's policies we can equip our society with the resources to I am a product of Phyl's Academy, Meyer Levin Junior High School and Science Skills Center High School. I've made it a priority to return to the students to make certain they possess a limitless future. I have worked along side my entire family to conduct a neighborhood tutoring program every Saturday at the Barbados ex-police As*ociation. While tutoring I attained unexpected fulfillment. Guiding students has enabled me to learn more from those kids than they ever did from me. I was in a position to get a glimpse of what the youth within our area have to take care of on daily basis both at home and in the whole world.  As Councilwoman, I will struggle to provide our students the practice to prepare them to the future and also the options to permit them to select exciting career paths.
