 Come and join us for companionship, coffee and interesting talks each Wednesday morning between October and April. We try and keep the talks interesting and varied – see our website programme page.   The Forum was founded in 1967 when a group of Rotarians headed by R.K.Wilson held an inaugural meeting at the YMCA Ripon and invited men from Ripon and District. They proposed that a non-sectarian, non-political organisation should be formed which would encourage retired and semi-retired men to meet for friendship and learning. Our motto is Fellowship and we encourage our speakers to support these aims. A small committee consisting of the President, the current Chairman, elected and co-opted members manage the affairs of the Forum. In 2009 it was decided to open the Forum up to Ladies and has been a mixed Forum since, we have a membership of 90 with an attendance of around 60 enjoying a mixed range of speakers including local dignitaries, people who have had exceptional careers and specialist photographers. Many speakers donate their fees to charity. November 29th 2017 was our 50 year anniversary. We meet at Allhallowgate Methodist Church Hall each Wednesday from October to April at 9.45 am for coffee and socialising followed at 10.30am by a speaker for 1 hour. We have no subscription fees, just £2.50 entrance.
