The U.S. Version of the S650G Bison was originally manufactured by Satoh Agricultural Machine Mfg. Inc. in Tokyo, Japan and was produced from 1973 to 1983 for the United States. In Japan the 650G model tractor dates back to the early 1960's. In February of 1980, Satoh merged with Mitsubishi leading to changes in the tractor and model line. Remaining U.S. Satoh inventory was relabeled as Mitsubishi and some Satoh models were rebranded as Satoh by Mitsubishi. Sales of the S650G ended in 1983. In its lifetime the S650G Bison was produced merge the core drive train became all Mitsubishi and primarily diesel. The Satoh S650G Bison was offered as 2wd only.  All US-spec Satoh tractor models began with an S with a three digit model number and an an*mal name, hence the Satoh S 650G Bison.
