A PLATFORM FOR THE PRESENTATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF DANCE-BASED FILMS. Celestial Motion, VR film choreographed by Alexander Whitley and performed by his company 2019 marks our 10th year of presenting dance film, spotlighting both local and international choreographers and filmmakers. Since 2010, we have seen the genre grow and develop with increasing creativity and diversity. We are busy planning an exciting year ahead with unique content and special artists that will ensure many memorable moments. We were able to invite exceptional artists like Alexander Ekman and T.M. Rives to create new work for our Co-Lab commissioning project, engage multiple local dancers to perform live, and host creative discussions about new technologies and the art of dance filmmaking. We also continued to develop the next generation of dance film artists and enthusiasts through workshops, free presentations, and our touring program, SFDFF We’re proud to be a dynamic, internationally recognized platform for dance films, and we’re grateful for every audience member, artist, filmmaker, volunteer, and donor who makes up our artistic community.
