i have not uploaded any images or written any posts for quite some time… shocking, i know. well… that comes to an end today. i was lucky enough to spend a few nights in the kruger park in january with my gi*lfriend samantha.  it was amazing!  since sam drove around the i have been posting some of my shots on a site called viewbug… its such an awesome place to get feedback and inspiration. i submitted this image to a contest with the theme of “flying low”  and found out recently that i won :). so excited, thank you viewbug and adorama   i have never really been a huge fan of hdr.  i always thought that it made the images look too forced, but mostly also because i didnt know how to do it. in december i had some time to experiment in the world of hdr, and i got a few pleasing results.  the image hello! this is my first post for 2015, as i have been pretty busy.  i will try and be a bit more active on my site from now on, i promise. this shot is a first for me.  i have always wanted to capture water splashes and i got this shot while messing around and this image was taken at mankwe dam in the pilanesburg.  i was photographing birds for over 3 hours and this was my reward. this image was taken at bush babies.  i found it on the getaway magazine site without even knowing it was there :).  you can check it this is one of my first ever edits, i took this photo at mankwe dam in the pilanesburg a few years back.  this photo won second place in the this is one of my favourite bird shots.  i have sold a couple of digital as well as print versions of this pied kingfisher. another shot i found that i thought was worth sharing.  this is a nightjar, a very rarely seen bird as they are nocturnal. going over a few old shots, i found this one and it really jumped out at me.  i decided to edit it, and i am really happy with how it
