as you guys can see, this is something very personal to me to tell every single person to the world about my life as a deaf gi*l. yes, i am deaf. although, i can hear just like you guys because of dr. william. d. house who invented cochlear implants helped people who are deaf to hear just like you sweet people! i am so blessed for an opportunity to have this for the rest of my life. i’ll also tell you a cochlear implant is an electronic device that helps people to hear from their cochlea and the magnet inside their head. now, just to be clear, don’t think i have this big ole magnet piece in my head. lol. it’s the same size as the ‘top part’ of my cochlear implant that way my magnet can fit right onto my head to be able to hear. speaking of magnets, i can’t ever in my life do mri or metal detectors. if you ever see me at the airport or anything that have metal detectors, i’m sorry for skipping you lol. i didn’t choose the deaf life, the deaf life chose me! i’m completely grateful for it!!  from what i was told: my mom always tried to call my name or do whatever to get my attention and apparently i would never turn around lol. she probably thought i was ignoring her the whole time haha. sorry, mom! so, i had to go to musc in charleston, south carolina. my doctor found out that i was profoundly deaf from some kind of virus. i had my first surgery to get my cochlear implant at the age of two. i was the first person in south carolina to ever get a cochlear implant device! amazing, right? now. only if i still had the newspaper somewhere, i would be happy to show you! to be able to communicate with my family, i had to do a little bit of asl (american sign language). as of today, i am more of a lip-reader. i still know some of asl though, and i can understand a little bit when someone is age eleven, i got my second cochlear implant. i wouldn’t say i regret having my second one. maybe by some chance, i will try again one more time. whenever i feel like the time is right for me. why? well, you already read that i had my first one at the age of two, i
