unfortunately, i don’t read them all in a very timely manner. no, there are books on my shelves that i bought years ago and still haven’t cracked open just yet. it’s not that i don’t want to read them—i do, i really do—it’s just that the stack has grown so large that i feel like i’ll never get through them all. one of my goals for this year is to try to tackle this ever-growing tbr pile, and i figured the best way to hold myself accountable (and generally help myself stay organized) was to list them all here. so if you want to know what’s in my physical tbr pile, read on! this is going to be the start of a new series of posts that i like to call “origin stories”. essentially, i’m going to be talking to kick off the series, i figured i’d start with the first story i ever wrote: once upon a one night stand. continue reading “origin stories: once upon a one night stand” → 2018 was… rough. really rough! that’s not to say that it didn’t have its bright points, but i’m ready to keep moving forward and now that it’s 2019 and we’re all (well, a lot of us are) setting goals for the months ahead, i figured i’d share one of mine: keep up with a regular skincare routine. and i know i’m not the only one with that goal. at this point in my life (my 20s) i’m blessed to say i have a solid routine and pretty clear skin, and i’d really love to keep both—knock on wood! however, it took quite a while (and a whole journey) to get to this point. let’s start at the beginning. buckle your seatbelts, ’cause this is gonna be a long one. once upon a time, i had lofty dreams of being a book blogger. i wanted to read hundreds of books a year, take pretty pictures of them, and but, uh… i am not capable of that. i’m lazy, crappy at taking photographs, and i don’t have the vocabulary to truly describe a. so now that 2018 is drawing to a close, i can share my favorite reads of the year! anyway, i figured i might as well take a moment to introduce myself and tell the tale of how i ended up here.
