Nite Out was an iOS app I made in January at Camp Polyhacks 2017. The goal of the app is to reduce drunk driving in San Luis Obispo by offering ride discounts through a partnership with SLO Safe Ride, which has connections to bars around the city and offers a ride Bars could scan a QR code corresponding to certain drinks, which would generate a ride code for a SLO Safe Ride driver confirming their discounted ride back to campus. The video above shows a prototype version made at the hackathon. I worked on creating this interactive Ja*ascript game with 3 other students. While I had used Object Oriented Progamming before, this was the first project that relied very heavily on concepts like Encapsulation, Inheritance, and Polymorphism. Every object in the game had its own clas* with its own methods and properties. This project uses an Arduino Uno, an EasyVR shield, and a PowerSwitch Tail.
