a blog all about books, writing, baking, and life as a woman in her twenties. pathways of their hearts during a summer that promises to bring change–whether they’re ready for it or not. her husband of over twenty years leaves her. though her world is shaken, and the future uncertain, she finds hope through an old woman’s wisdom, a little gi*l’s laughter, and a man who’s willing to risk his own heart to prove to savannah that she is worthy bookstores of the small town she’s sought refuge in, she must reconcile with the grief that haunts her, the god pursuing her, and honestly, i think this just might be my favorite of catherine’s books. but don’t quote me on that, i just can’t decide. all of her to the audiobook in the car while i was driving over the course of a few days, and i just couldn’t help but be touched by savannah’s savannah barrington’s story just took my heart and ripped it into shreds before putting it back together again through the redemption in the end. i really cannot tell you how much i loved this book. even though my rating scale only goes to five, i would still give this novel ten bookshelves if i could. savannah’s struggle through the pain of her husband’s leaving filled me with compas*ion for her, and as i learned all of the details of the breakdown of her marriage, i felt for her—and cried with her—all the more. then, there was the story of the old woman, the little gi*l, and the man savannah encountered in the berkshires. oh how that broke my heart. i cannot say any more, because i do not want to spoil it for you, but i cannot tell you how many tears i cried over their addiction catherine just really blew me away with this one. the way that she just intertwined their two stories, and brought it all together in the will read it again, this time actually reading it instead of just listening to it. all credit for the italicized synopsis goes to catherine west and thomas nelson publishing. happy april! i cannot believe we’re already this far into 2019, i feel like it was just christmas! but i’m excited about it because
